which is a helping verb and a main verb in this sentence "earthquakes maybe tectonic or volcanic"?

I believe maybe is the helping verb,and tectonic is the main verb

That sounds like a trick question.

There should be a space between "maybe" so that it reads "may be". The word "may" is the helping verb and "be" is the main verb.

"Earthquake", "Tectonic", and "Volcanic" are all nouns.

Yes, it should be ''may be''. I think ''may'' is an adverb, not a helping verb.
