take it in to a auto parts store, like auto zone, advanced auto, pep boys somewhere like that as they have machines they test them on.

pretty much all you can do by yourself, is to check and see if it is producing spark, take out a spark plug, and see if it has spark when you turn the car over,(turn the key to rotate the motor) check every plug.
