jeep cutting off will restart after it sit ,drives 100yards,cut off again

I have a 2001 jeep cherekee that will start losing power while driving,have a engine fault code 0171 how can I fix it myself?

That code means your engine is running too lean (too much oxygen). Check the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Try cleaning it before replacing it.
