lawyer advice for home repair fraud.

Question by nicomarm Reward: 350 Pond Points + 10 Knowledge Tokens Status: Answered
I would like advice in legal action.
I had gutters installed in my house. The price includes helmets on the gutters in the upper level, and cleaning all gutters. I found out that those two shores were not done . The workers though that I have no access to the upper roof and will not found out. I feel that I was cheated. There were also other problems :the gathers were installed where the roof dripping edges are bringing water on the fascia and drip edges should have been suggested to have the work done well. The company offered to remove part of the gutters and install flushing. I have no confidence in the company and do not wish to let the workers back to "correct " any problems .I payed with a visa card "big money".
Should I cancel payment? Should I take them to small court for taking advantage of senior citizens or call a lawyer and get them ? I have pictures of work not done .What is the best action to take ??

Hello nicomarm, hope you are doing well,

I would first talk to a lawyer. He/she might ask for a consultation fee however it really depends on how "big" the money was. For some $1,000 is big for others $5,000. If the money is less than $1,000 I wouldn't bother asking a lawyer but rather try to settle with the company. If you decide to consult a lawyer some may provide consultation as low as $50 for half an hour which I think is fair.

Hope this was of some help and have a great day!
