muscle pain

I have been sick for 3 months. Symptoms are extreme exhaustion, not typical muscle tightness. neck tightness, to the point of physical pain just to walk or hold my head up. Had a barium swallow test showed voice box has thickened. have done number of test everything comes back normal. if I eat or do something I feel better because my muscles are stretching back to size. There are 3 people with exact symptoms. Son and son-in-law. We know something is wrong and not able to find out what is going on. I have been a hard worker and never have felt like this before

Sorry for your suffering. Since all started 3 months ago, could you find out if something happened then? Could you be completely stressed out with major mental distress?. Another possibility is to test the location you live for pollution with lead, carbon monoxide or other possible toxic gas which could affect several members of the family. Mononucleosis, Nile virus, Lyme disease or other viruses may cause a stiff neck and fatigue. Some will produce also flu like symptoms. I assume that anemia, hypothyroidism, or diabetes were tested and excluded.
