my bird acting like she gona have a baby

I have a male Budgerigar and a blue and black female parakeet all of a sudden today when we brought them inside the blue bird got inside of her little second feed dish its about two inches by 3in.long the (female) just jumped inside this dish witch is normaly used as a second feed bowl (IT WAS EMPTY of food) the dish is empty I'm guesing she is pregnet,I cut up grass and papper on the bottom of the cage,What do I DO? to help her? do I put in a box in the cage? I'M not sure how to tell she has not done this before,she eats good,when we got them we wern't sure what we had a boy &a girl! but the Budgerigar we always thought was a boy,but they were young and we could't tell,if she is gona have a babie what do I DO WILL they take what I put in ther cage to make a nest,Please help my mom there hers and she is 72 years old and I don't know what to do so she won't worrie all night long again I'm guessing the blue one is pregnet how long does it take how do I help?????

A parakeet would lay eggs and you wouldn't really know until the bird is here whether it is pregnant or not I don't think you have anything to worry about until she lays an egg. When and if she does she will take care of the baby or babies as the case maybe. I breed birds and hand feed them but I would not suggest doing that for you could harm them not knowing what your doing so just sit down relax and wait and let nature take its course I hope this helps.

at the pet store you can buy a wooden nesting box for parketts ,needs no paper or grass because its easier to clean.and the cere-nostriles on the female is pink or beige.and males are blue if they are adults.
