my feret keeps scratching

my pet feret keeps scratching like mad and rubbing his body all over the cage im thinking it might be fleas or mites but im not sure and dont know how to treat it.

have a good look if fleas get a powder and dose him.clean cage real well.he may have skin infection.make sure tis fleas before dosing him.try a flea comb as well,give him a good going over and dust with flea powder careful of his eyes.

here is a site i think you will like to check out, it has all kinds of very usefull knowledge about ferrt's, just click on the link below, on page 30 of this site it says that the flea stuff used for cats and dogs called "frontline" or "advantage" works well, but only one squirt to be used, check this out for lots of info you might want on your ferret, hope this also helps you..
