my fish tank

I just got a new tank about 2 weeks ago and in my tank I have a gouami pearl fish, a bichir cuvi/ eel fish,and 2 african dwarf frogs.its a 10g tank and I have live plan.I when on many sites and I am still not shure how to clean my tank. some sites say to clean 20% of the tank every week, some say to clean the intire tank every 2 months. and some say to change the tanks every week, but I am scared that if I change the aquarium to often. it will stress the fish but if I leave it too long bacteria is going to form. and with what product do i use to clean the tank when I got the tank I use some wast control, I dont remeber the names of the others but one to calm the fish and the other to take the cemicals in the tap water, do I use the same onse again and to the same thing I did?there also the problem with the filters I dont know if I have to change them every few weeks of to just rinse them? and I want to get more fish but I dont know what kind to get with the fish I have? thanks if you can answer any of my quetions I really apressiat it :)

Don't make the same mistake I did of chnging more than 20% of the water at once. That killed half the fish in my 70 gallon aquarium. I recomend changing about 10-15 percent of the water at a time once every 2-3 weeks in a 10 gallon tank as long as you are not overfeeding the fish. The filters can probably be washed in lukewarm water every week and replaced once every 6-8 weeks..

And use a chemical (I forget the name of it, but it comes in a yellow bottle. Stresszyme maybe?) and monitor the ph, chlorine, and amonia levels a few hours after doing a water change to ensure the levels are ok.

Dave you are right and the other thing you can do is go to a pet store and ask them what you can do and what other fish would be compatible with the ones that you already have. Many reasons would be there differents in aggression and some need warmer water also different care then others. But make sure that it is a pet shop not a department store like WAL-MART. Depending on were you live check with a store called PETS SMART this is a store geared strictly to all kinds of pets even erotic ones. They should have a web site just do a search for the name. If there isn't one close buy you can call them and they can lead you in the right direction. Hope this was helpful.
