my son is sick

My son is 23 years old and he has swollen glands in his neck, I have taken him to a dr. and they have done a ct scan and blood word, the said he had swollen glands around his heart and lungs, and they are doing test to find out if he has cancer or a virus, they put him on antibotics and steroids and the swelling has went dowm, his neck was swollen out really big but has gotten smaller since they given the meds does anyone know any thing about this that could help me not to be so scared.
