What date did the breatherliser test become law?

in the u.s.a, it is not a law, you can refuse to take it, however in most states if you refuse to take the test, your liscence is automatically suspended, and they will probly take you to a hospital and have blood drawn for analizing your alcohol content in your blood, but the breath test is "not" a law, it can be refused, a law is something that has to be followed, and cannot be refused, however, if your asking about the u.k. i have no idea if it is law there
