my mom has well water which is hard water, she got a salt system that the water goes through. it saves money in the long run because you use so much less detergent, shampoo etc., and it saves on replacing faucets that will get clogged up and eaten away by the hardness of the water

You can use the mr clean car wash filter. You need to change the filters after a few washes, but it does the trick. Also try washing your car when it isn't so hot out since that seems to help. And use a window squeegie to remove the water droplets from the car body before they dry. Walmart and target carries the mr clean car wash and answerpond actually has one you can buy under prizes http://www.answerpond.com/item_details.php?item_id=9

You may use distilled water. I get some from the water accumulating in my dehumidifier.
