red dot on my nose

Question by monicarae503 Reward: 25 Pond Points + 10 Knowledge Tokens Status: Pending a resolution
I have had a red dot on the tip of my nose for probably 3 or 4 years. It looks like the size of a pimple and that's what people usually assume it is. It is not a pimple; however, and it has never hurt before. Today it has started hurting. Its red around it, so maybe I'm developing an actual pimple somewhere near it. I don't know. I just wanted to know if there is anyway it can be cancerous? I've always just assumed it to be a broken blood vessel. ?

From your description it is not cancerous. Cancer occurs when cells grow out of control and form a mole. Skin cancer are always an elevated wound and not flat. So if it is as flat as your skin it is not cancerous.
Skin cancer pictures are shown at this site so it can be compared to what you see on your nose.
