well sure you should, can't imagine going to my mothers retirement party without a gift, i agree get something heartfelt becouse SHE WILL CHERISH IT!!!!!!!!!

yes. why not as she has done many things for u cant you just buy a gift for. You should buy a gift which will be a remembarance of u if u go out she will see that gift and she can find you are with her
