Cysts are filled with liquid and they are not cancerous. Sebaceous cysts have keratin and are under the skin. Most of the time they do not need removal but can be drained if painful. They have no similarity to cancer or other lumps which are filled with a mass of cells. They do not turn into cancer. Once in a while they may get infected.
