what is the heating unit for an upper o2 sensor on a 2000 honda lx 4cly

There is no heating element.It is called a heated 02 sensor because it doesnt actually start functioning until it is heated to a certain temp by the exhaust. The upper one will be the one in the exhaust manifold or close to it. The one behind the catalytic converter is the lower. If you are getting an egine code on the heated 02 sensor, simply check the wires, if good replace the sensor.
