what is going on?

Question by cordy Reward: 25 Pond Points + 10 Knowledge Tokens Status: Pending a resolution
My dog jumped out of my truck and hurt her rear left leg. The are no major cuts or bruises. However, she will not put weight on her leg at all. She will not move from the same spot unless we pick her up. i dont see any swelling but she is in some obvious pain. What is going on?

Your dog may have a broken bone in the leg. She may need X-rays and a cast. She needs to be taken to the vet for evaluation before permanent damage occurs.

Please take your dog to the Vet right now. She is suffering. Was the truck moving when she jumped out of it? Was she hit by another car? By not moving she is communicating to you that she is suffering and knows instinctively not to. In some states, it is illigal to carry a dog in the back of a truck and is a trafic hazzard. Why was she in the back of the truck? I would not put my 3 year old in the back of a truck. She may have a broken hip and needs an x-ray and medicine. Act quickly on this before it is too late for her to recover.
