| i would check the "thermocoupler" it is a white ceramic type of sensor that detects that the flame and/or burner is on and working correctly, if it is not working it cannot and will not sense that the flame is there so it will shut the gas off, the broiler probly has its own "thermocoupler" so it works fine, in your owners manual, if you have it, if not go to maytags website and enter your make and model, and look on the parts list for the location of it, once you find it, disconnect it and put a "continuity" tester on it and confirm that it is not broke or damaged, be carefull not to handle it to roughly becouse like i said it is made of a ceramic type of medium, and is very fragile, and just becouse it does not look broke, it could have a hairline crack on it that the human eye cannot see, hopefully this helps you, on the good side, if it does turn out to be the thermocoupler, they are not very expensive at all, and are very easy to remove and re-install, again hope this helps, good luck |
