my x husband who i have been divorced from for 4 years has claimed injured spouse on my 2010 taxes that i paid off through an offset to my taxes for the last 2 years. Now because there was a reversal of the offset due to his claim i now owe the money again and he was given almost $600. I talked to the irs and they told me he can continue to do this for the next 6yrs!!! I also called the company i originaly owed the money and was told his new wife had been calling pretending to be me and getting my personal information on this debt. They also informed me that they were opening my mail because they sent me several notices about the offset. I was told by the IRS the only thing I can do is fill out for 3949a for a fraudulant claim. What can I do to stop him legally?
